The peanut sauce is super amazing, you’re a huge fan of Satay peanut sauce this one is unbeatable. It is so fragrant and you really smell and taste the peanut!
I would recommend to mix the yellow noodles with the bee hoon***, simply because the bee hoon does not absorb the sauce as well, so what you’ll end up getting is plain bee hoon with peanut sauce; it is not a horrible combination if you stir the noodles and the sauce well but it is not as enjoyable!
Auntie cooks the cuttlefish just right here, not too hard but still retaining that springy bite to the cuttlefish! It also does not smell!
I think the kang kong** is a little over done because it does not retain the crispy texture but my mother’s does, so I guess it’s really up to luck!
I love the way this dish comes together, the whole flavour is very well balanced especially when eaten with the cockles. You can choose the omit if you’re not a huge fan, but I find that it will lack something if you do!
*I’ve not personally heard of anyone doing this dish, so do take that into consideration!
